My gifts

The Fogarty gave me some gifts.
I was very grateful!
Here is what I got.

Some snacks.

My Koala teddy.

My Owl notebook.

Some pencils with rubbers on them.
All of the pencils have a flower pattern.
There is a green, blue and pink.
The pink pencil has a Chinese doll type rubber.
The blue pencil has a Peacock rubber.
The green pencil has a Owl rubber.

The last thing I got was a bookmark that I think is very cute!
It is a boomeran with two koalas engraved on it.
Hanging of it is a piece of ribbon and attached to that ribbon is a wooden koala bear.

Thank you to my family that I stayed with for getting me all of these wonderful, pretty and yummy things!

Thankyou

Thank you to everyone who helped with organising everything so we could visit.
It was a great experience and I will always remember this trip.
It was a great privilege and I made new friends.
I hope that I can keep in contact with them.
Seeing new places was cool.
Everyone putting men or ladies clothes on it didn't really matter because we all looked funny with anything!
Dressing up at Cooks Cottage was funny!
Seeing the great view of the pitch at ont eh seats at the MCG.
Looking at all the different types of animal at Healsville Sanctuary.
There were animals that weren't even in NZ!

The Barbecue

This afternoon/night there was a barbecue at Mitcham.
There was lots of food. I got to catch up with my friend who came to NZ  last year.
The dessert was the best. I ate quite a lot of dessert! 🍰🎂

The last day of school at Mitcham Primary

The last day of school was pretty packed.
As my teacher today I had Mrs Conway.
We had a assembly today.
The New Zealand and the Mitcham children had to write a type of speech but it was to be little.
The New Zealand kids got a Mitcham pen.
We gave the Mitcham kids books for their school library.

MCG Here We Come

The children had a fabulous afternoon at the MCG with a tour, a visit to the sporting museum and a fun play at 'Game On'.

Other places we saw today

Cooks Cottage

MCG

MCG Melbourne Cricket Grounds

We have just walked a bit, and we just steped on a Melbourne train, along with my friends, Georgia, and jessica, plus my billets.
After the ride in the train, we arrive at, Flender Street.
We walk across the road, to a part where we have some lunch. I had some jelly, and pop corn.
Afterwards, we head off to the tram shelter, where we obviously wait to catch a tram.
When we get on the tram, we take a long trip, to cooks cottage.
It is a old house, that Captain Cook used to live in. The house is very, VERY well preserved.
After that, we went to the MCG, or , the Melbourne Cricket Ground. It was HUGE.
There is going to be a game tomorrow in the grounds, so the staff were getting ready. We had a guide, touring us around the large stadium. At the end, we went to, GAME ON. It was like a arcade a bit, with lots of excersize games.

During class yesterday

On Wednesday I was in Jorja's class. Her teacher is Mrs Genever. We first had music. The first thing we did was do little imitating  things to show what the characters were doing or what they did. At music the class got to chose their parts of Alice that they would like to play. When that was finished it was time to have some eating time and recess.

Straight after recess we were doing literacy.
                                                                    THE THEME WAS :

                                                                    THE GOLD RUSH

The class had to look at a picture and draw a brainstorm of things that we already know about the gold rush. When you had finished that brainstorm you then had to draw another brainstorm and write things that you want to know. We went through a PowerPoint. The teacher told us that we would be keeping a journal. So we got to pick chance cars, weather cars and the ounces of gold that we had.
I had 12 oz of gold and the temperature that we had to write in our journals was 79F but the actual temp was 26c.
When I picked my chance card I was in bad luck. My chance card said that my gold pan had broke and I had to go to the 100 water store and buy a new one. To buy a new gold pan it was 1 ounce of gold. So now I only have 11 ounces of gold left. We also got given our gold minors license. We had to write our name on it and the teacher said that they would be asking to show it to them and if you don't have it with you when they ask for it you get all your gold taken off you and you are out of the game. I think you can still write I you're journal though.

This is my license:

What did we do next?

We did Indonesian.
For Indonesian I think there was a different teacher who came in. The class sang her the song that they had being learning the week before. After they finished snging the teacher than talked to the New Zealand students about the differences and if we get taught differently. She handed out a piece of paper to to everyone and said that their Indonesian teacher wanted them to draw things that were related to Indonesia. She told the New Zealand kids to draw stuff that were related to New Zealand.

This is what I drew:

Eating time and recess.

The last subject of the day was maths.

For maths I went on Mathletics and Mr Pitts.

When school finished and we were home Megan, Daniel and I went for a walk.
I also helped Megan with her project.

Yummy dinner!

Tonight for dinner Megan and I made homemade pizzas.

Making our pizzas.

The differences between Mitcham and Cockle Bay School

At Mitcham it is a much smaller school and doesn't have as many children. Our school is much bigger than Mitcham and our school has lots and lots of children.
Mitcham has tennis courts and our school doesn't.
Cockle Bay has a swimming pool and their school doesn't.
They always have wear their shoes but we don't.
Our school library is set to differently to Mitcham because Mitcham's library has desks in it.

At lunch with my friends!

All in our onesies!

Daniels onesies!

Megan's onesie!
