Straight after recess we were doing literacy.
THE THEME WAS :
THE GOLD RUSH
The class had to look at a picture and draw a brainstorm of things that we already know about the gold rush. When you had finished that brainstorm you then had to draw another brainstorm and write things that you want to know. We went through a PowerPoint. The teacher told us that we would be keeping a journal. So we got to pick chance cars, weather cars and the ounces of gold that we had.
I had 12 oz of gold and the temperature that we had to write in our journals was 79F but the actual temp was 26c.
When I picked my chance card I was in bad luck. My chance card said that my gold pan had broke and I had to go to the 100 water store and buy a new one. To buy a new gold pan it was 1 ounce of gold. So now I only have 11 ounces of gold left. We also got given our gold minors license. We had to write our name on it and the teacher said that they would be asking to show it to them and if you don't have it with you when they ask for it you get all your gold taken off you and you are out of the game. I think you can still write I you're journal though.
This is my license:
What did we do next?
We did Indonesian.
For Indonesian I think there was a different teacher who came in. The class sang her the song that they had being learning the week before. After they finished snging the teacher than talked to the New Zealand students about the differences and if we get taught differently. She handed out a piece of paper to to everyone and said that their Indonesian teacher wanted them to draw things that were related to Indonesia. She told the New Zealand kids to draw stuff that were related to New Zealand.
This is what I drew:
Eating time and recess.
The last subject of the day was maths.
For maths I went on Mathletics and Mr Pitts.
When school finished and we were home Megan, Daniel and I went for a walk.
I also helped Megan with her project.

Sounds like a very busy and interesting day at school. Great pictures about NZ.
